NON-MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS
Many children are turned away because of a lack of funds. You can change that.
Operation Smile Singapore needs volunteers to help raise funds and awareness so
that more children will receive the gift of life-changing surgery.
Our volunteers assist with office administration, fundraising and creating
awareness. Graphic designers, professional photographers, writers and a host of
other talents and skills are needed to help Operation Smile Singapore.

Operation Smile Singapore Student Programmes
Operation Smile Singapore’s Student Programmes are aimed to develop students in
line with Operation Smile International’s 4 Pillars of Student Programs:
• Service
• Leadership
• Education
• Philanthropy
To this end we are developing the following areas for students across Singapore
to participate in and contribute to Operation Smile’s mission: Outreach to the
community through awareness campaigns and involvement in national events.
Students will also have the chance to get involved in the KK Hospital’s Cleft
and Craniofacial Centre’s support programmes.
We are reaching out to secondary schools, and tertiary institutions to raise
awareness of Operation Smile’s mission and to encourage interested students to
create their own student chapters, under the umbrella of our newly formed
National Student Chapter.
The Student Chapters in the various schools and tertiary institutions will not
only raise awareness, they are already developing fund-raising initiatives to
raise money for Operation Smile’s missions around the region.
Committed students will also have the opportunity to contribute on Operation
Smile missions by assisting specialists in the following areas:
• Child-life
• Patient Education
• Medical Records
• Film and photography
• Speech Therapy
As part of Operation Smile’s commitment to the students we are developing
workshops to train them in various skills that will be useful to them in life
and help them contribute more effectively to Operation Smile. These include:
• Leadership
• Photography
• Film-making /Post-production
• Design
• Patient Education
• Speech Therapy
• Child-life
• CCRC Clinic days
These workshops will be conducted by industry professionals with extensive
knowledge of the areas involved.
